Southtile Bricks
Southtile Ltd manufactures a variety of clay bricks from the ever popular 70 Series, through to the 90 Series and 115 Series range.
The 70 Series comprises of the Terrace Range of bricks, which includes Rosebank, a smooth faced coal fired kiln run brick ; and Prospect a brick with scalped face and sides. The Medieval is part of this range being a wet rumbled brick with coal added which are coal fired and kiln run. It is marketed as Carnarvon being red and buff in colour, Essex, brown multi colour and Redding a red brick.
Another brick in this series is the Hokonui which has patterned face and sides and is coal fired and kiln run. The Ascot is the same pattern as the Hokonui but has coal put on to the face to add more pattern and colour. The final brick in the Aristocrat range which is smooth face brick set face to face in the kiln and graded.
These bricks come in a range of colours, primarily red and buff together with coffee and ebony.
The Bay Range is the company’s one and half size brick and this is available in a variety of finishes including all the Terrace Range. It is marketed as Mason being the Prospect and Hokonui finish on face and sides and Curio which is the Prospect finish on face and sides.
The Crescent Range is a double size brick which can be made in any finish that is available in the Terrace or Bay product range. Its size is 230x162x70, being 24 per square metre.
Plaster Bricks
Also available is a range of plaster bricks in single, one and half or double size bricks which come in a variety of colours and finishes.
Specials and Made to Order
Southtile also manufactures a range of special bricks and MTO’s which include sills, bull nose, solids, cants and squints in various sizes.
Monier Bricks
Southtile Ltd is a distributor for Monier Brick who have been supplying New Zealand made product to the market for over 100 years.
Their genuine kiln-fired clay bricks have a number of unique qualities that set them apart from other building materials. They are durable, versatile, improve with age and more mellow with time. Bricks never date, are maintenance free, cannot rot and remain singly unaffected by the elements. Apart from an occasional washing down, genuine clay bricks require no time consuming or costly maintenance and help avoid leaky home syndrome problems.
Clay bricks provide better thermal insulation keeping interiors warmer in winter and cooler in summer. They are also effective in insulating against sound so you enjoy the quite comforts of home in peace and quiet.
The versatility of brick together with the rich range of textures and colours available within the Monier range of bricks, and the variation of tone within these colours, allows for endless possibilities. Basic brick colours can be further modified by selection of mortar colours, and by the type of joint employed. The use of different bricks in combination with each other, decorative brick techniques and special bricks all add to the rich variety of possibilities.
