Hollow Masonry

Firth has a wide range of masonry blocks designed for specific construction needs. From fences to homes to commercial buildings they have a masonry block suited to every application. Firth manufactures both standard and special masonry blocks in the 10, 15, 20 and 25 series, which are continually tested by trained in house specialists together with dedicated laboratory staff. These product tests are carried out to ensure standards are met and continually maintained.

Retaining Walls

Firth Border Stone, Windsor, Meadow Stone, and Diamond Pro make it easy to create stylish and practical retaining walls which require no mortar, pins or jointers, as the blocks lock together with a unique rear lip.

Border Stone is ideal to create raised gardens up to 450mm high, whilst Windsor is appropriate for terraced gardens and retaining walls up to 900mm high. The Diamond Pro range is perfect for heavy duty walls up to 1.2metres depending on existing ground conditions and up to 10metres with appropriate engineering.

There are so many different looks you can create with retaining walls, as it just comes down to your vision and imagination. Whatever you decide to come up with, walls will enhance the overall design, adding value to your home.

The colours available are Rockface, Sandstone and Granite with minor variations in colour occurring owing to the natural variance in raw materials. The blocks may also display whitening known as efflorescence, which is a characteristic of many natural products, however it usually disappears over time.

Pavers

Firth manufactures and supplies an extensive range of pavers suitable for a variety of applications in domestic, commercial, and industrial areas.

Stylish patios and paths around the home and pool can really make a big difference to the look and feel of your property. It’s a great way to extend the inside look to outdoors, using complementary colours and textures. Pavers can also make for a great looking, long lasting driveway, providing that first impression.

For domestic and residential driveways the products available are, Boulevard Paver, Holland Paver and  Classic Cobblestone which come in different sizes and in a variety of colours. These include black sands, terracotta, natural, cream sands, fossil, warm earth and autumn leaves.

The patio path range includes the Chancery Paver, the ever popular Courtyard Flagstone and Walkway Pavers and Palermo Paver which is a polished paver. These pavers all come in a variety of colours and sizes.

Certified Concrete

Firth supplies high quality concrete from its audited plants throughout New Zealand, with the plants being audited in accordance with the requirements of the NZ Ready Mixed Concrete Association.

All concrete is produced under the technical control of an experienced plant engineer, with the grades of concrete normally specified at 17.5MPa, 20MPa, 25MPa, 30MPa, 35MPa, and 40MPa. These can be supplied with a maximum aggregate size of 13mm or 19mm and made suitable for pumping.

Brick Veneers

Firth manufactures a range of brick veneers which include Summit Stone, Focus, Pioneer, Manorstone and Devonstone concrete bricks. These again come in a variety of colours and sizes details of which are available at Southtile Ltd.

With brick veneers you’re able to construct an outer layer that’s not only very attractive and incredibly durable, but also one that gives you the added assurance of a veneer cavity system. Basically the cavity means that moisture can escape between the brick veneer and the timber frame, thereby helping to eliminate the potential of a leaky homes syndrome.

Trade Mortar

Dricon Trade Mortar is recommended by Firth as it can add to the beauty of your project by complimenting or contrasting with the colour of the veneer you have chosen.

It is a combination of clean, graded sand, cement and plasticizer proportioned to give an ideal mortar for all types of masonry, brickwork and stone work. The product has a compressive strength of 12.5MPa after 28 days, guaranteeing the user a consistent mortar time after time.
