Concrete tiles are created from the controlled formulation of raw materials under high pressure to achieve the tiles strength and resistance to water penetration. They remain weather- tight over time and do not become porous or brittle. The colour applied to or incorporated into the body of the tile is purely decorative and each tiles colour may vary in shades throughout the roof. All tiles supplied will contain some small blemishes as it is impossible to avoid some chipping and scuffing during during transportation and installation.
When first installed concrete tiles may experience some discolouration caused by the migration of lime salts to the surface. This is known as efflorescence, which is usually temporary, with all roofs being expected to return to an even matt appearance over time.
